Trip Diary: Disneyland/LA 2018 June 29-July 3

June 29

Morning: We started bright and early in California Adventure for Early Entry and rode a ton of rides: Soarin’, Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout! (we like it more than Tower of Terror), Incredicoaster, and Toy Story Mania. We tried to get as much done before the crowds started getting heavier. We then rode Pixar Pal-A-Round, saw some Incredibles characters, and then got a churro. After our FastPass to Radiator Springs Racers, we headed back to the pool at the Grand Californian as the heat wave came in.

Afternoon: One of my favorite things was relaxing by the pool. The weather was amazing, especially compared to the humid and hot temperatures at home. It was hot, but it wasn’t humid which made lying by the pool very enjoyable. We grabbed lunch at White Water Snacks by the pool, which quickly became one of our favorite quick service restaurants.

Evening: After some much needed pool time, we headed back into California Adventure to draw at the Animator’s Academy and ride a few rides. We ate at White Water Snacks for dinner as well.

June 30

Morning/Afternoon: We enjoyed going to the park early and hanging by the pool in the afternoon the day before, so we did the same thing. We rode our favorite rides in California Adventure, did the quick bakery tour in Pacific Wharf, and met a few characters.

Evening: We love seeing everything at night, so we headed over to California Adventure and then Disneyland after we were finished at the pool. We rode in Francis’ Ladybug Boogie in a Bugs Land, and then Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree at Cars Land. We grabbed a bite to eat at Tangaroa Terrace which was fine, but neither of our favorites. This was our one night in the Disneyland Hotel, which I reviewed in another post.

July 1:

Morning/Afternoon: We slept in a little bit, then headed to the LA Farmer’s Market at The Grove. I shopped at Brandy Melville, and we ate lunch in the market. This seemed busier than the parks! We visited a lot of the market, went to American Girl, watched the band outside, and then went to LACMA.

Evening: We visited LA County Museum of Art and took pictures at Urban Light. We then attended Hillsong LA for a service, and stayed at the Residence Inn at Burbank.

July 2

Morning/Afternoon: We scheduled the Warner Bros. Studio Tour ahead of time, and went into the city for our tour. We did this on our first trip to California, and my dad was along for that too. He wasn’t able to come on this trip because of work obligations, but we all loved it the first time and my mom and I loved it the second as well. After our tour, we headed back over to the LA Farmers Market at the Grove.

Evening: We got tickets to the Dodger Stadium for the game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Dodgers won by far; nevertheless, it was a really fun experience. After the game, we headed back to the Grand Californian to continue our Disneyland stay.

July 3:

Morning: Today was our last day, so we ate breakfast at White Water Snacks in the morning. We participated in the Get Up and Go Power walk around California Adventure in the morning. We chilled out at the pool for a few hours as soon as it opened, and then headed to the airport.

Afternoon/Evening: We arrived at the airport, returned our rental car, and headed back on our flight home. It was a wonderful trip, and I would definitely do it over again.
